Maria Sharapova, 38, is being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) during this weekend's festivities in Newport, Rhode Island.
Retired since 2020, Sharapova was the first Russian WTA World No. 1 (in August 2005) and winner of five Grand Slams including completion of the Career Grand Slam.
Sharapova is one of three people in the ITHF Class of 2025. The others are American doubles legends, the Bryan Brothers: Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan.
One of the time-honored traditions for ITHF inductees is to receive a Brooks Brothers navy blazer with a custom-made liner filled with drawings, words, and names of personal significance.
Maria Sharapova's blazer has the names and images important to her throughout her life.
The name of every person on her team in her career is present including Nick Bollettieri whom she began training with in Florida as a young child.
Sharapova's Olympic silver medal from the 2012 London games along with the Olympic rings are shown.
A drawing of each Grand Slam trophy is included, symbolizing her Career Grand Slam.
Pictures of her outfits she helped to design in collaboration with Nike, an airplane showing her love of travel, and her son's name are also included.
Sharapova shared that Muhammad Ali's quote: "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" is included in her blazer.
She was inspired by the quote, and her opponents over the years could attest that her game and on-court demeanor exemplified it.
