Amazon Prime Video began streaming the Marronnier Kingdom anime on Oct. 3, offering both English subtitles and a same-day English dub. The series debuted the same day on Japan’s NHK Educational channel at 6:25 p.m. JST, 5:25 a.m. EDT, letting English-speaking fans watch without waiting for a delayed localization.
The anime adapts the fantasy romance manga about seven brothers serving as knights, according to Anime News Network. Each brother is sent as an ambassador to one of eight surrounding kingdoms to find his fated romantic partner.
Kiyoko Sayama, known for directing Skip Beat!, Vampire Knight and To Your Eternity seasons 2-3, directs the series at J.C. Staff. Shinzō Fujita, who wrote scripts for all three seasons of To Your Eternity and The World Is Still Beautiful, is writing and overseeing the show’s scripts.
Yuriko Maeda, chief animation director on Requiem of the Rose King and One Punch Man TV 2, designed the characters. Yoshiaki Fujisawa, composer for Apocalypse Hotel, Land of the Lustrous and the Love Live! School idol project franchise, scored the music.
Jin Aketagawa, sound director on Dr. Stone and Fire Force, handled sound direction.
The manga launched in Shogakukan’s Flowers magazine in 2016 and has built a loyal following among female readers, topping Takarajimasha’s 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook in that category. Shogakukan released the manga’s 11th volume on June 10, showing the source material remains active nearly a decade after its debut. The anime adaptation gives Prime Video subscribers a same-day way to follow the story in English as it airs in Japan.
Prime Video subscribers can now stream the premiere episode with English audio or subtitles. Future episode dates have not been announced.
