The Miami Dolphins were quick to send their congratulatory message to their brethren in Florida sports, the Florida Panthers, on Tuesday night, when Sam Bennett and company completed their mission to be back-to-back NHL Stanley Cup champions.

In a post on Instagram, the Dolphins shared a photo of the Panthers with a caption that read: “THEY DID IT AGAIN! Congratulations to the @FlaPanthers  on winning back-to-back championships!”

However, many fans online trolled the Dolphins in the comments section.

“No one will ever say that phrase about the Dolphins. Ever”

“THEY HAVE 2 CHIPS AND YALL HAVENT WON A PLAYOFF GAME SINCE GEORGE BUSH WAS PRESIDENT”

“BACK TO BACK AND I STILL HAVENT SEEN A PLAYOFF WIN FROM YALL.”

“South Florida best team in Hockey and Dolphins can’t win a playoff game. Hell literally has frozen over.”

“Shame how we became a hockey town and you still don’t have a playoff win for a quarter century”

“I’m 28 and still havnt seen my favorite team win a playoff game”

The Panthers showed the Miami Dolphins and everyone what domination is like with another Cup win

The Panthers showed incredible poise and talent during the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Final against Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. Florida lost the first game of the series on a Leon Draisaitl game-winning goal for the Oilers but took the next two games.

Edmonton won Game 4 on another Draisaitl OT goal before the Panthers flexed their muscles anew in Game 5 and Game 6, during which they outscored Edmonton, 10-3.

Although hockey and football are two completely different realms, the Dolphins can draw inspiration from Florida, which built quite a machine of a team on both ends of the ice and injected it with another incredible asset before the trade deadline by adding Brad Marchand to the equation.
