The Hurricanes and Irish will have the eyes of the nation on them on the first Saturday in November.

The Miami Hurricanes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had the eyes of the nation on them last year. The two marquee programs faced off at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend with a national audience watching intently.

In one of the most exciting — and most influential — games of the 2025 season, the Miami Hurricanes stormed out to a big lead and tacked on a late field goal to clip the Irish 31-28.

For the encore this fall, fans can now prepare for a long day of tailgating and pre-gaming. The schools announced the game time on Thursday morning, and it will be a night game for the second year in a row. The game is set for 7:30 pm ET and will be televised on NBC and Peacock.

Given the stakes for this year’s game, as well as the recent history between the two teams, putting them on primetime was a total no brainer.

The Hurricanes and Irish were the talk of the College Football Playoff selection process back in November and December. The Hurricanes trailed the Irish significantly in the CFP ranking since the initial reveal. However, Miami got hot and slowly made up ground. The committee ultimately gave the Hurricanes the nod over the Irish in the final set of rankings, leaving Notre Dame out of the field.

Miami would end up defeating Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Ole Miss to reach the national championship game. Notre Dame declined its invitation to the Pop Tarts Bowl.

As such, the matchup between the Hurricanes and Irish — both of whom should find themselves inside the top 10 in preseason polls — will be one of the biggest and most anticipated games of the entire college football season.
