With the 2025 NCAA Tournament kicking off, all eyes are focused on that. However, college baseball season is in full force with the College Baseball World Series still a ways away.
On Sunday, Michigan and USC faced off in a Big Ten Conference showdown. It was not a close game, either, as Michigan defeated USC 11-0 in seven innings via the run rule.
Still, this game went viral for an unexpected reason. In the bottom of the second inning, Michigan second baseman Mitchell Voit hit a bases-clearing three-run triple that extended the lead to 4-0 early on.
After Voit slid into third, he did a surprising celebration.

Voit's celebration swirled all throughout the internet.
The video above originally posted by Noah Bieniek had 1.5 million views by Monday afternoon.
On Monday, Voit broke his silence on the celebration and issued an apology in a long message on X.
"I would like to apologize for my actions on third base yesterday," Voit said. "I made an immature decision in the heat of the moment. The gesture I made does not reflect my character, the household I was raised in, or the block M that I represent in any kind of way. I take full responsibility for what I did, and I am truly sorry to all those who I have negatively impacted by doing this."

It's a strong move by Voit, especially with the video surfacing all around the internet.
Meanwhile, he was named the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday.
Michigan faces Western Michigan on Tuesday before a three-game series against Purdue.
