The No. 13/6-ranked University of Louisville men’s and women’s swimming teams emerged victorious against visiting RV/RV Missouri Friday afternoon in the Ralph Wright Natatorium. The Louisville men claimed a 205-89 win, while the women secured a 203-96 victory.

Leading the way for the Cardinals were Christiana Regenauer and Kim Herkle, who both collected multiple victories. Regenauer emerged triumphant in the 100 free and 100 fly, in addition to being part of both winning relays. Herkle dominated in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, as well as the 400 IM. Overall, Louisville notched an impressive 27 NCAA B-cuts throughout the meet.

The Cardinals got off to a strong start with wins in the 200 Medley Relay. The women’s team registered a B-cut and took first place with a time of 1:37.74. The men also came out on top, posting a time of 1:26.21. Both teams displayed depth, as the women’s B-relay finished third and the men’s B-relay finished fourth.

In the 1650 freestyle event, Paige Kuwata secured the victory for Louisville with a time of 16:32.81, while Maddie Luther claimed third place. On the men’s side, Ilia Sibirtsev dominated the field, winning with a time of 14:51.66. Teammate Tyler Watson came in second with a time of 15:12.00.

Fernanda Celidonio put up a B-cut time of 1:46.13 in the women’s 200 freestyle, taking first place for the Cardinals. Guy Brooks led a Louisville sweep in the men’s 200 free with a winning time of 1:34.56.

Rye Ulett and Lucy Mehraban finished first and second, respectively, in the women’s 100 backstroke. Dalton Lowe posted a B-cut time of 46.70 to claim victory in the men’s 100 back.

Kim Herkle continued her dominant performance with a first-place finish in the women’s 100 breaststroke, while Denis Petrashov secured the win in the men’s 100 breast with a time of 53.10.

Missouri took the top two spots in the women’s 200 butterfly, but Tristen Ulett secured third place for Louisville. Jan Zubik of Missouri won the men’s 200 fly, followed closely by Gustavo Saldo of Louisville.

Kamryn Wong of Missouri won the 3M springboard event, but Lindsay Gizzi and Else Praasterink earned second and third place, respectively, for Louisville. Gizzi also emerged victorious in the 1M springboard event.

In men’s diving, Collier Dyer of Missouri claimed first place in the 1M event, while Adam Sneden and Rayce Winn clinched second and third place, respectively, for Louisville. Sneden won the 3M event, with Winn finishing in second place.

Gabi Albiero and Charlie Crush won the 50 free events for the Cardinals, leading a strong showing in both races.

After the break, Christiana Regenauer continued her winning streak, taking first place in the women’s 100 freestyle. Guy Brooks replicated her success, claiming victory in the men’s 100 free.

Jordan Durocher won the women’s 200 backstroke, while Jackson Millard dominated the men’s 200 back.

Kim Herkle led a Louisville sweep in the women’s 200 breaststroke, while Denis Petrashov secured first place in the men’s event.

Summer Cardwell emerged victorious in the women’s 500 freestyle, followed closely by Rye Ulett and Maddie Luther. Ilia Sibirtsev cruised to victory in the men’s 500 free, leading a 1-2-3-4 sweep for Louisville.

In the women’s 100 butterfly, Christiana Regenauer claimed first place, while Dalton Lowe took home the victory in the men’s event.

Kim Herkle won the women’s 400 IM with a B-cut time of 4:12.72, while Tommy Bried secured first place in the men’s event.

To cap off the meet, both the men’s and women’s A-relay teams emerged victorious in the 400 free relay, with Christiana Regenauer and Guy Brooks leading the charge.

Overall, Louisville displayed their dominance in the pool, showcasing their depth and talent across various events. With 27 NCAA B-cuts, the Cardinals are poised for success as the season progresses.
