Texas had a fantastic weekend on the recruiting trail for the 2026 class.
The Longhorns received commitments from four-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland and five-star edge Richard Wesley over the last few days. Five-star edge Trenton Henderson also included Texas in his top three schools.
The crown jewel of Texas' 2026 recruiting class was particularly ecstatic with the commitment of Wesley. Five-star quarterback Dia Bell expressed his excitement via social media shortly after the news broke. "The block is hot! Welcome home," Bell stated.
Bell has a reason to be thrilled. Wesley is ranked the No. 2 edge in the nation for the 2026 cycle and the No. 3 overall prospect in California, according to 247Sports. He is now Texas' highest rated commit on the defensive side of the ball for 2026.

Bell is coming off a fantastic Elite 11 performance where he took home the Elite 11 Finals MVP. He is Texas' highest ranked commit in the class and is consistently trying to recruit the best players across the country to join him in Austin.
After the commitments of Cleveland and Wesley, Texas' 2026 recruiting class skyrocketed to No. 9 in the country per 247Sports with 15 total commits.
Texas defensive line coach Kenny Baker and edge coach LaAllan Clark appear to be a fantastic duo on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns this offseason.
