These are great times for East Carolina. It’s going to a bowl game after winning four in a row, it has its coaching situation set with Blake Harrell reportedly going from interim to full-time, and with the offense a whole lot of fun. Basically, there’s hope for the future.

Navy is also bowl eligible, and it’s been a fun year with the team showing huge signs of improvement, but it lost three of its last four games with the offense falling flat.

There’s this, and then a few weeks off for the showdown against Army before going off to a bowl for the first time since 2019.

Navy vs East Carolina: Who Will Win?

What’s East Carolina doing so well lately? Honestly? Temple, Florida Atlantic, Tulsa, and North Texas. ECU beat four mediocre teams with bad defenses.

The defense started taking the ball away again - after coming up with a ton of turnovers over the first several weeks of the season - and the running game has gone off with over 220 yards in each of the last four games.

There’s a big difference here against Navy - Navy isn’t that bad. The run defense will hold up - Notre Dame, Memphis, and Tulane ran on this bunch, and that’s about it.

Navy is more than just a good running game, but that’s what will work in this.

The team is 6-0 when running for 225 yards or more against an ECU team that’s the second worst in America in the time of possession battle.
