Get ready, Marvel fans, because Marvel Rivals is back with another update in version 20260402. In the last update, NetEase released season 7 for the game, which released White Fox, the newest Marvel hero to join the fray, new lore and a story expansion, as well as the Shot Challenge, a new mini game for Marvel Rivals. With players enjoying season 7 so far, the NetEase dev team has released a patch update, adding even more content for the new season.

This update will feature a new map and many bug fixes and optimizations. One of the most exciting aspects of this patch update will introduce and replicate the map of Lower Manhattan; however, it will be set in the year 2099. We’ll get to see a futuristic New York City overcome with a crisis that everyone from across the multiverse will face. This update is scheduled for release today, and here’s everything included in the new Marvel Rivals update.

Update Version 20260402 Patch

New Map: Lower Manhattan

The biggest update to be introduced in the newest patch for Marvel Rivals is the new map: Lower Manhattan. This new map will take place in the year 2099, with the city of New York overrun by mass-produced soldiers roaming the streets. Here is the full excerpt of the patch notes from the Marvel Rivals website:

Timeline Incursion! The Alchemax Headquarters from the year 2099 has suddenly crashed into Lower Manhattan. Advanced technology and mass-produced soldiers are spreading like a plague, systematically transforming the surrounding blocks into the futuristic Nueva York. Faced with this unprecedented crisis, heroes from across the multiverse are infiltrating a battlefield corrupted by the future. There are eight million people in New York, and eight million stories, but your destiny will be forged on these very streets.

The news of the update, particularly the reveal of the Lower Manhattan map, was posted on the official Marvel Rivals X account. The post also featured the new trailer showcasing the new map, from a golden statue of Jeff the Land Shark to a huge library. It’s unclear whether or not some of these locations are inspired by actual locations in downtown NYC; however, everything looks pretty clean and crispy, which makes exploring the new map even more exciting. Here’s the statement made by the devs describing the new map:

Welcome to Lower Manhattan, where iconic streets meet hidden depths. Fight through open avenues, historic buildings, and quiet courtyards in the shade of the Alchemax building, then descend into secret labs pulsing with unstable energy beneath the surface. From street-level clashes to tight interiors and vertical engagements, every corner shifts the balance of power. This isn’t just New York… It’s what lies underneath it.

Bug Fixes and Optimizations

Apart from the addition of the new map, the devs have also worked on many bug fixes and optimizations for Marvel Rivals. Here are the full details from the patch notes on their website:

Heroes

– Clint’s Kumiho Catch: Fixed an issue where Hawkeye’s Ultimate Ability might not deal damage to the afterimages created by White Fox’s Ultimate Ability form.
– Angela’s Angelic Ascent: Addressed a rare issue where if Angela’s Assassin’s Charge was interrupted the moment it was cast, the dash effect might not disappear.

All Platforms

– Chronal Catch-Up: Fixed an issue where players still in battle during maintenance might temporarily be unable to enter battles normally after logging back in.
Deadpool’s Director’s Cut: Fixed a visual bug in Match Highlights where Deadpool’s Role could be displayed incorrectly.
– Voice Changer Optimization: Upgraded the in-game voice changer algorithms to provide a much more natural, fluid, and immersive experience.
