One of the most recent transfer portal additions to the Wolverines’ roster is former UMass cornerback Josh Wallace. Today, the media got to speak with this new Michigan football transfer, where he confidently stated that he is just about all caught up on the defense and playbook ahead of the coming season.

New Michigan football transfer portal cornerback already caught up on the playbook and more

Josh Wallace stood out during his time with the Umass Minutemen, earning team captain and All-Independent honors throughout his college career thus far. With a big question mark at cornerback right now, there is a good chance that Wallace sees the field quite a bit this year, but before he earns a major role, he needs to memorize the defense. According to Wallace, everything has gone well with his transition thus far, even stating that he is probably 100% caught up on the playbook and more.

“Yes, I would say probably 100% right now,” Wallace said when asked about his progression with the playbook. “It’s not really that challenging to me. I kind of pick up on things pretty fast.”

With a heated position battle going on right now, and the CB2 role up for grabs, where does Wallace stand right now?

“It’s still early to tell,” Wallace said. “We’re all competing and we’ll see by the time game time comes.”
