TEMPE — Marques Uini, No. 88 football prospect out of Texas, has announced on his social media that he is committing to ASU.

Uini comes from Copperas Cove High School in Copperas, Texas, where he will graduate in 2026. He also ranks at no. 56 in the interior lineman on the 247Sports Composite. Although he had other pending visits after visiting ASU, Uini decided Tempe was where he wanted to be.

“It felt right, it felt like home,” Uini told reporter Hod Rabino of the Devils Digest. “It was a great place. Meeting all the people there, it just felt amazing.”

At his visit with ASU, Uini told Rabino about his interaction with head coach Kenny Dillingham and how friendly he was to him and his family. Uini said they were even surprised when they learned that Dillingham was the head coach due to his demeanor and personality.

Another factor that sealed Uini’s decision to commit to ASU was the connection among its Polynesian players.

“It added a lot more to my decision… simply because I could tell the Poly Pipeline really does draw strong over there,” Uini said. “I saw all of the just hanging out together and adding me and the other Polys who were on the visit… It just adds so much meaning to it.”
