The Ohio State Buckeyes have been working hard this spring to build their 2026 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 3 in the country.
Securing commitments from Blaine Bradford and Simeon Caldwell has already been significant for the Buckeyes. Now, Ohio State is set to add another top target at the cornerback position.
Even more rewarding for the Buckeyes is the list of top programs they beat out for the key commitment.
Bergen Catholic (NJ) cornerback Jordan Thomas announced Monday afternoon that he is committing to play for the Buckeyes. Thomas chose Ohio State over Notre Dame, Michigan, Auburn, and Texas A&M.

Thomas was a top priority at cornerback for coach Tim Walton. With his commitment, Ohio State now has two cornerbacks in the 2026 class, joining four-star in-state prospect Jakob Weatherspoon. Thomas, who stands 6-foot-1, is ranked as the No. 176 overall player and the No. 17 cornerback in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Ohio State views Thomas as a versatile defender capable of playing both on the boundary and in the slot. He becomes commitment No. 13 for the Buckeyes in the 2026 class. As the weather warms up, Ohio State is expected to gain even more momentum on the recruiting trail ahead of the upcoming high school football season.
Thomas visited Columbus twice this spring, and the Buckeyes have done an excellent job with his recruitment from the beginning. Their efforts have paid off with the addition of a key priority target at a crucial position. A big recruiting get for the Buckeyes and there first in the month of May.
