Toledo’s MAC title hopes are all but kaput without a whole lot of help. It lost to Buffalo and Bowling Green, but a win over Miami University to keep crazy tie-breaker hopes alive.

It’s already bowl eligible and can get to ten wins by winning out - including in a bowl game - but first it has to pull this off and hope Bowling Green loses to Ball State and Miami.

Ohio lost to Miami and doesn’t play Bowling Green. It also could use a Falcon loss, but it has to take care of its own business.

Win this, beat Ball State, and let then let the tie-breakers roll from there.Ona three-game winning streak and also 7-3, it’s playing its best football at the right time.

Why Ohio Will Win

The running game is rumbling.

The Bobcats lost in a decent battle with Syracuse back in August. That’s the only blip in a 7-1 run when it runs for more than 113 yards. Kentucky and Miami University are the only teams to hold them down.

Keep grinding it, control the clock, and keep the Toledo off the field - the Bobcats can do that. Toledo doesn’t worry about the time of possession, and the running game isn’t all that great.

Even so, it needs to run to win going 5-0 when getting past 125 yards. Ohio has allowed more than 126 yards just three times, but …

Why Toledo Will Win

Turnovers. Toledo has an issue with them, too, but Ohio’s mistakes are steady. It turned it over at least once in every game, and the Rockets have been on fire coming up with takeaways with 14 in the last five games.

Ohio might be balanced offensively, but it’s at its best when the passing attack is working. The Rocket pass rush should be just good enough in key moments to not break after bending. Ohio will get its yards, but again, the tackles will loss will change the game.
