'One Tough Kid': Lexie Hull Shakes Off Pain As Proud Mom Hails Her Warrior-Like Resilience
Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull (10) high-fives her teammates Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Seattle Storm at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Indiana Fever defeated the Seattle Storm, 95-75.

Lexie Hull took a brutal hit during the Fever’s win over the Seattle Storm — but her response showed exactly why she’s earned the respect of teammates and fans alike. After a head-on collision with Gabby Williams in the first quarter, Hull was helped off the court with a towel pressed against her forehead. The swelling was immediate, and the knot above her eyebrow was visible even from the stands.

“She is okay! Sore neck & jaw, but she is okay. One tough kid that can take a hit and never complain!

,” wrote Jaime Hull, Lexie’s mom, in a post that quickly made the rounds.
Despite the injury, Lexie Hull returned in the second quarter and played 23 minutes, finishing with five points, nine rebounds, and a team-best +31 rating. Her toughness didn’t just help the Fever secure a 95–75 win — it reminded fans why she’s become a core part of Indiana’s identity.

Coach Stephanie White praised Hull’s grit, saying, “You can never tell if Lexie’s hurt or injured. She goes down, she gets back up and always has the same expression. She just plays her butt off”.

Lexie Hull is the kind of athlete who sets the tone for a team fighting for a playoff spot. And with the Fever clinging to seventh place, her resilience might be just what they need to push through the final stretch.

But Hull didn’t stay out long. She returned in the second quarter to a loud cheer from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd and immediately made an impact. Her three-pointer midway through the quarter extended Indiana’s lead and forced a Seattle timeout.

After the game, Hull told reporters, “I could see it with my own eyes. I knew it was going to be big. It was literally sticking out,” referring to the knot on her forehead.
