The Oregon Ducks have been in the news a lot over the past couple of weeks when it comes to trying to land some of the top recruits in the 2026 class, and while they were unable to land 5-star QB Jared Curtis, their luck might be turning up with another top-ranked prospect in the class.

Earlier this week, 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho announced that he was setting his commitment date and making a change to his official visit schedule. Iheanacho, who is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 4 overall player and No. 2 OT in the class, will announce his commitment on August 5.

For a long while, it seemed as if the Maryland Terrapins, Iheanacho's hometown school, led the way in his recruitment, followed closely by the Ducks. However, Iheanacho recently told 247Sports that things have changed.

Iheanacho is planning to take official visits to Oregon, Penn State, LSU, and Auburn, but he has removed Maryland and Alabama from the list.

"Right now I would say it's (Oregon), LSU, Penn State and Auburn," he said. "Probably in that order. I feel like the OVs can be the changing difference."

The official visit to Eugene will take place from June 20-22, which will be the final OV for Iheanacho — a valuable thing in the college football recruiting world. There will be some stiff competition for the Ducks down the stretch, but Oregon has to feel good about where they stand right now for one of the top players in the nation.
