Oklahoma didn’t take the field on Saturday but still added a trophy to its collection.

The Sooners’ title game against Texas A&M, held at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, GA, was canceled on Saturday. Oklahoma and the Aggies were named co-SEC Tournament champions.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at 4 p.m. on Saturday, but the conference moved the game to noon, citing impending inclement weather.

Nearly two hours into the weather delay in Athens, the SEC released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) announcing the cancellation of the title game.

"Due to inclement weather now and predicted for the rest of the day, today's Championship Game will not be played," SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said in the statement. "Both Oklahoma and Texas A&M are declared co-champions of the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament."

Oklahoma will enter the NCAA Tournament with a 45-7 record. The Sooners won the SEC Championship during the regular season, going 17-7 in conference play.

In Athens, the Sooners opened the SEC Tournament with a 4-1 win against LSU. They followed that up with a comeback win against Arkansas, beating the Razorbacks 8-6.

Though OU will share this title with the Aggies, it marks the Sooners third conference championship, as the won Big 12 title in 2023 and 2024. They have won four of their last five conference tournament championships.

Despite the outright regular-season championship and the tournament co-championship, OU is the third-ranked SEC team in the latest Softball America poll. The Sooners are No. 4, behind No. 1 Arkansas, No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 4 Florida State — and six of the top seven teams in those rankings hail from the SEC.

With Arkansas falling to Oklahoma in the SEC semifinals, the Sooners — and Aggies — are likely to jump the Razorbacks in the rankings. But with OU and Texas A&M never competing against one another, it's hard to predict which of those teams will get the nod as the No. 1-overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The NCAA Tournament bracket will be unveiled at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Sooners, in line to host the first two weekends of the tourney, are vying to win their fifth-straight NCAA title.
