Wladimir Klitschko is asking a California court for authority to request a police investigation after alleging that jewelry and other belongings of his late ex-fiancée Hayden Panettiere were pawned by a non-family member.
According to an October 5 filing obtained by TMZ and Us Weekly, Klitschko said he “is informed and believes that a non-family member previously connected to Hayden sold certain items belonging to Hayden, believed to include jewelry, to a pawn shop.”

He said the pawn shop has declined to disclose specific item information without contact from law enforcement. Without that contact, he argued, remaining items could be sold, transferred, or otherwise made unrecoverable.
The filing was submitted with Klitschko’s effort to be named temporary guardian of the estate of Kaya, the 11-year-old daughter he shares with Panettiere. Klitschko already had sole custody of Kaya. He has argued he needs guardianship authority to help her with her inheritance from Panettiere’s estate.
He is specifically asking that any guardianship appointment include the power to request and authorize a law enforcement investigation into the recovery of property he believes was misappropriated. The filing says no personal representative of Panettiere’s estate has yet been appointed, and that no one currently has authority to ask law enforcement for help recovering her property, “to the direct financial detriment of Kaya, Hayden’s sole intestate heir.”
The Superior Court of California in Los Angeles has not ruled, E! News reported.
In an earlier petition, Klitschko claimed jewelry was missing or unaccounted for, alleged that Panettiere’s emails were accessed and destroyed, and said some property was in law enforcement custody or had been seized by federal agents, TMZ reported. He also claimed that before her death Panettiere hired a security company after a “documented concern” that someone had gained unauthorized access to her home, and that designer clothes were relocated to keep them from being taken.
A source told Us Weekly earlier this month that Panettiere’s engagement ring from Klitschko had gone missing in the final days of her life. Klitschko and Panettiere were together on and off from 2009 to 2018 and got engaged in 2013.
Panettiere died on August 16, 2026, at age 36 while staying in Greenville, South Carolina. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruled the cause of death the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine, with the manner of death accidental, Us Weekly and Page Six reported.
