Patrick Mahomes’ Interaction With Lionel Messi Draws Major Attention

There isn’t a more iconic figure in modern sports than Inter Miami star and global soccer legend Lionel Messi. Still performing at an elite level at age 37, Messi has even left the door open to potentially compete for Argentina in the 2026 World Cup.

At this stage of his career, Messi has made it clear that his top priorities are staying healthy and being happy. That hasn’t stopped him from making big moves off the field, though. Most recently, he starred in a high-profile Adidas commercial alongside Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.

The ad features both superstars running on treadmills in full Adidas gear, subtly trying to outpace one another. After a few playful glances, the two share a grin and match each other stride for stride — a fitting moment between two of the most recognizable athletes in the world.

Following the commercial, several photos surfaced of Mahomes and Messi interacting — including one where they exchanged a Chiefs jersey and an Inter Miami kit. The images quickly drew attention, capturing a rare moment between two of the most accomplished and recognizable athletes in all of sports.

Fan reactions:

"Two goats but Messi is the goat of goats," a fan said.

Someone else added, "Oh, I love it!!!"

Mahomes has been an Adidas athlete since the 2017 season, shortly after he was drafted by Kansas City. Messi, on the other hand, has been with Adidas since 2006 and signed a lifetime contract with the brand. His global appeal ranks right up there with the most recognizable athletes in all of sports.
