Nebraska freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola not only looks like Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but the style of his play and game has also drawn comparisons to Mahomes. And the two have developed a friendship over the years, too. So when Raiola connected on his first college touchdown toss to Isaiah Neyor, it wasn’t surprising that Mahomes had to chime in on social media.

The similarity between the two players is striking, especially when Raiola wears shades like Mahomes. In late July, a picture of the two players side by side looked stunningly similar.
The Dylan Raiola era has gotten off to a great start in Lincoln, with the Huskers jumping out to a 30-7 start after the first half against UTEP. He connected on 15 of 22 passes for 192 yards, while tossing in two touchdowns with no interceptions. Pretty impressive stuff for a true freshman making his debut on the college football stage.
Many people had forgotten about former Texas star Isaiah Neyor. He reminded college football fans across the country how good he once was a few years ago, hauling in five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown. And those numbers were just in the first half. He figures to be the ‘Huskers’ most dynamic deep threat in the 2024 campaign and should be an exciting one to watch.
In 2021, Neyor showcased his talent as one of the nation’s top deep threats. He hauled in 39 catches for 791 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Wyoming Cowboys. He tore his ACL in training camp at Texas in fall of 2022, before watching for the rest of the season. Now, he’s officially announced his return. And it should be fun to watch the connection between he and Raiola all year long.
