New England rookie linebacker Quintayvious Hutchins has been arrested and charged with assault and battery against a family/household member after an incident in a Boston College dorm building, according to court documents.
The 23-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on personal recognizance.
He was arrested after an alleged incident on Tuesday, in which officers were called to the dorm building after reports of a man and a woman fighting in the hallway.
Hutchins is accused of grabbing a woman by the neck and pushing her. According to Boston College Police, the woman was questioned and said she was okay and that nothing had happened.
Multiple witnesses, including a residence hall assistant, said Hutchins and the woman got into a shoving match before he grabbed her by the throat,
The Patriots selected Hutchins out of Boston College with the 247th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and the team released a statement on Wednesday.
“We are aware of the report involving Quintayvious Hutchins,” the Patriots said. “We take these matters very seriously and are in the process of gathering additional information. We will not have further comment at this time.”
