Penn State football’s longest-reigning Class of 2025 commit has shut down his recruitment.
KiAndrea Barker, a four-star, 6-foot, 190-pound RB from Florida’s Miami Central High School, has received multiple offers since committing to Penn State in April 2023.
Arkansas, Colorado, Duke and USC were among the schools after him since Barker made his commitment. He’s also received offers from schools such as Auburn, Houston, Oregon, TCU, UCF and Wisconsin. In the meantime, he’s seen players such as blue-chip OT Jaelyne Matthews de-commit, thus reopening their recruitment.
But Barker took to X (formerly Twitter) Thursday afternoon to affirm his commitment to Penn State.
“I want to thank all the coaches who have recruited me along this process,” Barker wrote, “and all the penn state coaches/ staff that’s been showing love since day with that being said I want to officially announce that all recruitment is shut down for me and I’m all in 110% #weare.”
Barker grew up and Arkansas and played his first two seasons for Beebe High School in the state. From there, he transferred to The Woodlands School in Houston Texas and will be playing his final season at Miami Central High School in Florida, where he’ll team with another Penn State commit, QB Bekkem Kritza.
Nittany Sports Now spoke exclusively with Barker upon announcing his commitment.
“They showed me love,” Barker told NSN, “and then they gave me my first big offer when I was in my freshman year and kept a mutual relationship ever since then.”
“And from having the visit there and showing us the love that they showed us, it felt like it was the right thing to do.”
