Taking a look at each of the recruits in the 2026 recruiting class for Penn State Wrestling.

And right off the bat we start with a huge get for the Nittany Lions in the jam-packed 2026 recruiting class.

“Huge” being used both figuratively and literally. Which makes sense when you see Elijah Brown up close and in person.

Penn State Wrestling, Elijah Brown Belle Vernon Wrestling’s Elijah Brown commits to Penn State Wrestling as part of the 2026 recruiting class – 11/12/2025

Elijah stands 6’4″ tall and wrestled his final two years at Belle Vernon up at 215 pounds. Originally committed to Pitt, Brown re-opened his recruiting in October before finally deciding to take his wrestling talents to Happy Valley.

Accomplishments Elijah Brown brings to Penn State Wrestling

Elijah Brown Accomplishments

-Career record of 173-20 at Belle Vernon Area High School
-3x Sectional/District/Regional Champion (2024-2026)
-2x PIAA State Champion (2025 & 2026)

According to FloWrestling’s most recent 2026 Big Board Rankings, Elijah comes in as the No. 77 overall recruit in the 2026 class. Additionally, he is the 10th overall heavyweight in this year’s recruiting cycle.

Following a solid sophomore campaign at Belle Vernon where Elijah posted a 44-5 record and qualified for states, he really put his mark on the program in the final two seasons.

Brown posted a 94-2 record while piling up three major decisions, 26 technical falls, and an absurd 44 falls. And at the end of both his junior and senior year he was the lone man on the PIAA mat with his hand raised at 215 pounds.

Fit for Penn State Wrestling

Brown wrestled his first two years in high school at both 152 and 172 pounds. However he then made the huge leap to 215 his last two seasons.

And based on his frame and how he’s filling out, there’s really only one logical place for him to fit into Penn State Wrestling’s room. Which is alongside both Cole Mirasola and Dawson Bundy at 285.

“He’s going to be the heavyweight of Penn State. I guarantee it. He’s going to be a multiple-time national champion, and I don’t think it’s crazy to say that he’ll be an Olympic champion. He’s going to the best program with the best guys around him and the best coaching in the whole world.”
-Taylor Cahill Owner of “The Shop 814” in Somerset, Pennsylvania

The future looks incredibly bright for Brown. And if he can pack on some weight while training in the best wrestling room in the nation, then he’ll be pushing Mirasola for the starting spot sooner rather than later.
