The Philadelphia Eagles will wrap up their preseason on Friday night when they take on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. While the game doesn't count against the Eagles' overall record, it counts for the guys who are still trying to prove themselves.
With cutdown day coming up on Tuesday, August 26, this game is the bubble guys' final audition for a spot on the Eagles’ 53-man roster.
That being said, here are th ree training camp darlings who must show out against the Jets.
2025 undrafted free agent Darius Cooper is putting Tarleton State on the map and making a solid case to make the team's roster.
Cooper has not only been turning heads during training camp but also stole the show in Philly’s first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals and finished leading all wide receivers, catching six of seven targets for 82 yards and one touchdown.
If he can have another solid game, then the Eagles might not be able to turn him away. Cooper making the roster would also make for a great Cinderella story.
We should not expect the Eagles to keep three quarterbacks since Tanner McKee proved is a legit QB2 in the Eagles' first preseason game, but if rookie Kyle McCord pops off again, then maybe they will. If anything, he'll be fighting Dorian Thompson-Robinson to land on the practice squad as the team's emergency backup QB3.
Myles Hinton, a former star offensive tackle at Michigan, has shown plenty of promise throughout training camp. However, he'll need to show one more time that he's worth keeping over veterans Kendall Lamm or Matt Pryor.
