The move Las Vegas Raiders fans were hoping to see has finally arrived.
On Monday, according to Ian Rapoport, the Raiders have agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Cooper is coming off a down 2024 season between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills< /a>, largely dealing with the effects of a wrist injury.
Prior to that, however, Cooper was amongst one of the more consistent wideouts in the NFL. In 2023, he still hit 1,250 receiving yards and made the Pro Bowl, so there is still a track record of recent success. Between that and the dearth of impact wide receivers left on the market, it was a bit surprising to see Cooper’s market go as cold as it did.
As far as the signing goes, it could not have come at a more convenient time for the Raiders.
With a lack of veterans currently in the receiving room, Cooper immediately provides a veteran presence to help the younger players come into their own at the NFL level. Doubly important is the fact that the one veteran receiver currently on the roster in Jakobi Meyers has just requested a trade from the Raiders. Those factors likely galvanized the team into making this move, ensuring that they would not be heard by any decision they make.
The Raiders are more than happy to reunite with Cooper, and both sides hope that 2024 was just an anomaly.
