Class of 2025 Avon (CT) Old Farms athlete Rayshon Andrews picked up an offer from Syracuse during his visit for Junior Day on Saturday. Andrews, a 6-3, 185 pounder who plays wide receiver and cornerback in high school, also holds offers from Akron, Boston College and Connecticut, among others. Andrews is being recruited as a cornerback for the Orange.

"I cam down for the junior day," Andrews said. "Met with all the coaches and had a great time at the basketball game. Then me and coach Fran had a one on one conversation that he believes I got the talent they want. He was watching my film and told me he liked what he saw with my size and athleticism, and he would love to have me come play for him.

"I was ecstatic. He's a coach I definitely would want to play for and they got a lot of good going on for the program. So it was good to hear he believes in me and what I can do."

Andrews enjoyed meeting the coaches and getting to know them on a more personal level.

"Meeting them was like talking to a friend," Andrews said. "They talked to me as a person not just a coach and that stood out to me. We talked about how they want to further their program and the plans they have for it."

Another highlight of the visit was attending the basketball game between Syracuse and Miami in the Dome.

"The atmosphere was crazy," Andrews said. "You can tell the fan base really cares about their spots. The buzzer beater was lit. The whole stadium went crazy."

After visiting, Andrews says Syracuse is one of his top options. He hopes to take an official visit at some point. Next up is a visit to Penn State next weekend and to UConn on February 3rd.
