The Kentucky Cross Country teams delivered some strong performances at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Friday, November 10th. Competing at the Roger Milliken Center, both the men’s and women’s teams put in a commendable effort.

In the women’s 6,000-meter race, the Wildcats finished 17th with a total of 463 points. Ally Kruger led the way for the team, crossing the line in 44th place with a time of 20:57.0. Julz Williams and Mollie Roden followed closely behind in 95th and 97th place, recording times of 21:38.8 and 21:41.2 respectively. Jenna Schwinghamer finished in 115th place with a time of 21:54.5, while Phoebe McCowan rounded out the scoring in 127th place with a time of 22:06.1.

For the men, the 10,000-meter race saw the Wildcats securing a 14th-place finish with a total of 369 points. Jake Allen emerged as their top performer, crossing the line in an impressive 30th place with a personal best time of 29:58.0. Allen showed great potential early on, reaching the 5k split in 14th place with a time of 14:25.7, but was unable to maintain his position for a potential NCAA Championships spot. Alex Alston finished next for the Wildcats in 73rd place with a time of 30:49.5, followed closely by Jackson Watts in 78th place with a time of 30:58.3. Harper Moore delivered a personal best performance, placing 92nd with a time of 31:09.7, while Ethan Kern scored the final points for the team, finishing in 96th place with a time of 31:13.1.

Overall, the Kentucky Cross Country teams showcased their talent and determination at the NCAA Southeast Regionals. Although they faced tough competition, the Wildcats can be proud of their performances. It will be exciting to see what they achieve in future races as they continue to work hard and improve.
