Recruiting Fact or Fiction: Bobby Kanka Flipping, Ryan Montgomery to UGA, OSU Loading Up at DB

In today’s Fact or Fiction — Recruiting Edition — I look at three big recent topics from the recruiting trail and decide whether the statement is indeed FACT or if it’s FICTION.

1. DL Bobby Kanka sticks with Michigan.

Farrell’s take: FACT

Michigan State and Tennessee will get visits this spring, but the Michigan native always wanted to play for the Wolverines, and if he gets to know some of the new staff, his comfort level will return. I wouldn’t be worried about losing the high 3-star if I’m a Michigan fan.

2. Ohio QB Ryan Montgomery picks UGA.

Farrell’s take: FICTION

Georgia is going to wait on JuJu Lewis, it seems, and he likes Florida, but DJ Lagway is a problem there. I think it’s the Gamecocks for him as he decides this week, but he still has officials to take in June. If UGA goes all in, this could change, but give me South Carolina right now.

3. CB Dorian Brew joins CB Devin Sanchez at Ohio State.

Farrell’s take: FACT

5 star Sanchez is a true Texas pull for the Buckeyes as he’s solidly committed, but Brew is an Ohio transplant who will head back home. USC, Texas, and others are making it tough on the Buckeyes, but I think they double-dip in Texas at CB.
