The boxing world will witness a historic clash as undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez faces undefeated boxing icon Terence “Bud” Crawford on Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The generational matchup pits Mexico's iconic fighting hero against one of the sport’s current greatest pound-for-pound fighters in a battle that could redefine both legacies and the sport of boxing itself. Their showdown will be a spectacle where the spotlight shines brighter than ever, as it will be available for live streaming the day of the fight for Netflix subscribers at no additional cost.

Just nine days before their monumental bout, Netflix will build up the fight with "Countdown: Canelo vs. Crawford," a behind-the-scenes docuseries premiering on the streaming platform Sept. 4.

The series promises an all-access pass to this generational fight, going beyond sparring sessions to reveal the blood, sweat, and tears that both fighters are going through as they prepare to face each other in the ring.

With narration by Academy Award-nominated actor Josh Brolin in English and celebrated star Diego Luna in Spanish, the series will offer cinematic storytelling beyond the typical fight promotion.

The trailer also teased interviews with the fighters and their coaches, as well as esteemed boxing commentator Max Kellerman.

According to Netflix's companion site, Tudum, the series will also be directed by Jackie Decker and Tim Mullen and executive produced by Dana White, Turki Alalshikh, and Craig Borsari.

Viewers can watch the contrasting approaches of Canelo's preparation as an established super middleweight and Crawford's audacious jump up two weight classes to challenge a natural powerhouse.

For Canelo, a victory come fight night would add another future Hall of Famer to his already legendary resume and further solidify his status as the greatest Mexican fighter of his generation.

In Crawford’s case, beating Canelo would shoot him to the top of the pound-for-pound rankings for achieving the status of three-division undisputed champion, a feat that no male boxer has accomplished in the four-belt era.

For casual fans who might not be familiar with either fighter, this docuseries could serve as a solid primer that conveys the significance of both of their careers by telling their full life stories and what they have accomplished to reach this point.

The main card streams live globally on Netflix at 9 p.m. ET from Allegiant Stadium, with no pay-per-view fees required. All one needs is a Netflix subscription to watch the fight and its accompanying docuseries.
