A report from On3 indicated that Iowa guard Dasonte Bowen was entering the transfer portal. The news came the day after the Hawkeyes knocked off Kansas State in the first round of the NIT.

The Boston native started the first eight games of this season before being replace fellow sophomore, Josh Dix. Bowen's minutes decreased from that point until it was announced last month that he would miss the remainder of the campaign due to injury.

Bowen (6-2, 183) averaged 4.4 points, 1.9 assists and 1.3 rebounds in his 25 contests this winter. He averaged scored 3.1 per game as a true freshman last year with one start.

Coming out of Brewster Academy, Bowen reported scholarship offers from Maryland, Northwestern, Boston College, Georgetown, Miami (FL), Rutgers, Seton Hall, USC and Virginia Tech. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 26 point guard nationally in the 2022 recruiting class.
