REPORT: Mark Gronowski also in Miami for Top 30 Visit

Jalon Daniels isn’t the only quarterback prospect in Miami for a Top 30 visit with the Miami Dolphins. According to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, former Hawkeyes starting signal-caller Mark Gronowski is also in town for a visit on Tuesday.

If the Dolphins use any of their 11 picks on Gronowski, it will almost certainly be one near the tail end of the draft. They have two picks in the seventh round at No. 227 overall and No. 238 overall.

But a lot of mock drafts have Gronowski going undrafted entirely, and maybe the smarter play would be for them to scoop him up as an undrafted free agent instead, if they do at all.

While Gronowski flashed dual-threat potential in spurts (he ran for 545 yards in 2025), there are also plenty of reasons to be skeptical about whether he has what it takes to lead an offense at the highest level.

Dolphins fans are sick of watching their quarterbacks throw it away after all the interceptions Tua Tagovailoa racked up last season, and Gronkowski was unfortunately careless with the ball for much of his senior season of college. He threw almost as many interceptions as he did touchdowns on the campaign, with seven, and he finished four games with more picks than touchdowns.

Additionally, his arm strength frankly leaves some to be desired. Gronowski averaged just 6.6 yards gained per pass attempt in his swan song at college, and his longest completion of the season was for merely 51 yards.

With how old Gronkowski already is, too, he might not be a safe bet to improve in those areas. He’s set to turn 25 years old in October after all, and it’s unclear how much of a finished product he is. It’s worth noting that there are some signal-callers who are younger than him and already high-level starters in the NFL.
