Rihanna Makes History With Halftime Performance

During her Super Bowl 57 Halftime Show performance, Rihanna made history in not one but two different categories.

She’s the first female billionaire and the first known pregnant person to star in a Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Dr. Dre was the most recent billionaire performer — he was part of the group during Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles. But Rihanna, reportedly worth $1.4 billion, is the first woman. 

Rihanna’s wealth comes from multiple sources. In addition to her Grammy Award-Winning music career, she founded a successful makeup company called Fenty Beauty, which is now co-run by LVMH. 

In the middle of the show, Rihanna promoted the brand by touching up her makeup with Fenty powder onstage.

And during the performance, social media began to speculate whether she was sporting a baby bump underneath her bright red Loewe outfit. Shortly after, her representatives confirmed to Rolling Stone that she is, in fact, expecting.

The Halftime Show was the first to be sponsored by Apple Music, which took over from Pepsi for the first time this year.
