The NFL has yet to announce the musical guest for Super Bowl LX, to be held in Santa Clara, California, at Levi's Stadium, but the gallery's best guess has been Taylor Swift for quite some time. Expect those rumors to continue to swirl given Roger Goodell's latest remarks about this year's halftime show.

The NFL's commissioner recently appeared on The Today Show to discuss a few topics of interest, including the potential extension of the regular season to 18 games. This year's Super Bowl entertainment was brought up, and host Savannah Guthrie broached the question about whether or not Swift would be the guest.

“We would always love to have Taylor [Swift] play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” Goodell said.

Roger Goodell is an essential part of the NFL's performance at this point.

Goodell confirmed that it was too early to say officially, but when pressed if that was a "maybe" by Guthrie, he responded, "It's a maybe."

Swift is no stranger to being the center of attention, but she's allowed others to take on the mantle of being in the Super Bowl spotlight for several years. But she's even taken a foothold into NFL circles in recent years given her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The pair got engaged in recent weeks, which brought an even brighter spotlight on their union and Swift's ongoing presence with the Chiefs.

If Swift were to take over the center ring of Super Bowl LX's circus, it could make for a deliciously Chiefs-centric lineup. Kansas City has played in five of the last six Super Bowls, including three consecutive appearances. They're the safest bet to represent the AFC yet again in Super Bowl LX, which could mean that Kelce is in the locker room at halftime while his future wife is captivating millions around the globe at intermission.

Of course, Goodell refused to even say when that announcement would be made (or confirmed), but the date has to be close. The league announced Kendrick Lamar on September 8, 2024, while Usher was announced on September 24, 2023. Rihanna was the halftime performer before that and was confirmed on September 25, 2022. That means the NFL will clarify the picture sometime soon.

Whether or not Swift is the entertainment, however, even the conjecture is good news for the National Football League. All things Swift garner astounding amounts of media attention and general discussion, so his coy approach on The Today Show is all part of the performance.
