The SEC released their All-SEC teams on Monday afternoon and seven LSU Tigers cracked the list in some fashion.
The Tigers are currently the No. 1 ranked team in the nation according to multiple publications, and of course, that couldn't happen without some all conference performers. Here's the seven Tigers who were named to an All-SEC team:
Kade Anderson, LSU's ace, was named to the All-SEC First-Team after a fantastic regular season which saw him go 7-1 with a 3.47 ERA while finishing second in the nation in strikeouts (133). He was also named to the All-Defensive Team.
The only other Tiger to make the First-Team All-SEC was LSU's star reliever, Zac Cowan. He's struggled recently, but there's no doubting his early season dominance, which helped him post a 2.38 ERA in 45.1 innings while making six saves.
LSU's Saturday starter, Anthony Eyanson, earned Second-Team honors on Monday. There's an argument to be made that he may have been even better than Anderson, posting a 9-2 record behind a 2.88 ERA while striking out the third most batters in the country (121).
Joining Eyanson on the Second-Team is Jared Jones, LSU's star first baseman. Jones went through some tough times, but still hit .344 with 19 homers and 66 RBIs in the regular season.
Right next door to Jones in the infield is Daniel Dickinson, LSU's second baseman who also cracked the Second-Team. Dickinson was red hot to start the year and cooled off a bit, but still batted .335 with 13 doubles, 10 homers and 45 RBIs.
Making the Second-Team All-SEC and All-Freshman Team is LSU's left fielder, Derek Curiel. He came in and lit the sport up, batting .344 with 45 RBIs while posting a .465 on base percentage, which finished second on the team.
Casan Evans was snubbed from a spot on the First- or Second-Team, but his stellar season landed him on the All-Freshman Team. Mainly as a reliever, Evans posted a team-best 1.96 ERA in 20 appearances while giving up no home runs all year long.
