It's still early but Shedeur Sanders has taken Cleveland by storm. In the latest video leaked from Browns OTAs, the former Colorado quarterback threaded the needle for an insane touchdown catch by wide receiver Kaden Davis.
The play caught the attention of Deion Sanders, who posted the video with the caption "Yes Sir" on Instagram.
This is a breath of fresh air compared to most of the media coverage for Sanders. Since his selection by the Browns at No. 144 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, he has been the subject of hot takes and recycled quarterback nonsense. It's clear Sanders isn't a typical QB4.
The Browns’ quarterback system doesn’t stack players on a ladder, but rather pairs them in development groups. Sanders shares a pod with Joe Flacco, who comes in at the age of 40 with a diminishing arm. But there are no locks for the 53-man. This is true across the board.
Sanders was in a pro-style system under his father, Deion Sanders, for his entire career. Being able to throw with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning says a lot about his development. Not to mention, Pat Shurmur has given him next-level instruction.
Shedeur was the only FBS player in the top five for completion percentage (1st, 74.2%), completions per game (2nd, 28.1), passing touchdowns (2nd, 35), passing yards per game (3rd, 327.2) and pass efficiency (5th, 168.8).
For now, Sanders seems to continue to do all the right things and try to make waves for the Browns.
