The Wisconsin Badgers successfully hosted an under-the-radar recruit from Indiana recently who will work his way deeper into the recruiting landscape this year.

Bryce Vanostran, a 2027 wide receiver and defensive back, has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the state of Indiana and the hard work of the recruit has not gone unnoticed. As a sophomore, Vanostran recorded 63 receptions, 759 yards, and 10 touchdowns while also returning kicks for his team. The receiver has built up on his success last season and currently has 43 receptions, 736 yards, and five touchdowns which puts him on track to blow his sophomore statistics out of the water.

The production on the field that Vanostran has been responsible for has excited many college programs, with schools like Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Purdue, and Wisconsin displaying early interest. With the recruiting process in mind, Vanostran stated, “It’s been journey, it’s not over yet though not even close, I’ve been looking to stay close-ish to home and find good nursing programs because that’s what I want to do!”

Vanostran was in attendance for the 34-17 Purdue win over Southern Illinois before travelling to Madison weeks later for the game between Wisconsin and Maryland.

Sometimes, scheduling in advance does not work out and other times when an opportunity arises, time is created to make the event happen. When Vanostran received an offer to attend the Wisconsin-Maryland game, the wide receiver was not able to turn down the opportunity even with an away game on his own football schedule.

The day before the Wisconsin-Maryland game, Vanostran traveled six total hours on a bus to and from and put together quite the performance. The wide receiver recorded five receptions, 112 yards, and two touchdowns while only playing the first-half for Lafayette Jefferson. Following the game and a late arrival back home, Vanostran rose early and traveled another four hours up to Madison for his game-day visit.

During the visit the recruit had quite the experience, stating, “I liked how everyone was interactive with the recruits, it wasn’t just like you go there and no one talked to you the whole time.” The recruit also added that he would “for sure” consider another visit with the Badgers, but the details and timing will still need to be worked out.

On the field, the recruit has begun to see more and more attention come his way and much of the attention has been due to a love of the sport that Vanostran oozes. The wide receiver is a football guy through and through which can be seen in his play on the field and his dedication to the recruiting process.

Vanostran plays high energy, up-tempo football and consistently looks ready to make a play, which is difficult for many defenses to keep up with. The athlete appears to be consistently fresh and ready to attack, with Vanostran only coming off of the field when the team has solidified a win. Between his speed and size at 6-foot-3-inches, and roughly 185-pounds, the receiver is a dangerous player to cover nearly anywhere on the field.

The athlete may be dangerous in a variety of ways on offense, but where Vanostran performed the best last season in particular was in the red-zone. The big receiver has excellent footwork and a great feel for where the open space on the field will be, dropping opposing defenders in the process.

When asked about what he feels separates himself from other recruits, Vanostran stated, “My blocking and my speed, I also can just go get the ball naturally, and my love for the game, and my stats seem to prove that I love this game, and I also love my team.”

Vanostran is not lying, either, as the receiver has a knack for coming back to the football and making a play when his quarterback begins to feel pressure. As a blocker, the receiver has a solid and long frame that makes working a way around as a defender difficult during run defense.

The love for the game that the receiver clearly has will continue to be what drives his performances and development. For the Badgers, Wisconsin tends to recruit players who approach the game like Vanostran, which bodes well for his chance of landing with the program in the distant future.
