Recently, Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack in a domestic T20 game in Dhaka in a match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club, and he was rushed to the hospital.
He underwent an operation to insert stents to unblock his coronary artery. Currently Tamim Iqbal is out of danger, and he has regained consciousness. Earlier, Tamim Iqbal had complained about experiencing chest pain; before his departure, he only managed to field once.
The former Bangladesh captain incident made cricket legends express themselves as they showed concern about his health condition. Tamim made appearances in 391 matches for Bangladesh, and he amassed 15000 runs to his name.
“Sending my prayers and wishes to Tamim Iqbal and his family. You’ve faced tough opponents before and come out stronger; this will be no different. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Stay strong, champion,” posted cricket legend Yuvraj Singh on his social media page, X.
The 36-year-old demonstrated his gratitude to his family and team after he gained consciousness through his social media page.
“The heartbeat is what keeps us alive, but the heart can stop any time without any warning, and we repeatedly forget this. Did I know what was going to happen to me when I started the day yesterday? I have returned with the infinite mercy of Allah and everyone’s prayers. I’m lucky; I had some amazing people by my side during this whole crisis, whose discretion and tireless efforts helped me overcome this crisis,” posted Tamim Iqbal on his Facebook page.
“Some events remind us of reality, how short life really is. I can’t do anything else in this short life; let everyone stand by each other in trouble. That’s my request. I express my heartfelt gratitude and love to all of you. Everyone prays for me and my family. I am nothing without your love,” the post further stated.
