The idea of Taylor Swift as a homemaker isn’t exactly how her legion of fans picture the record-breaking pop star. But according to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, that’s exactly what life has looked like lately now that Swift’s Eras Tour is finally in the rearview mirror.
Swift's tour became the highest-grossing tour of all time, with over 150 performances across five continents. Designed as a career-spanning celebration, the tour featured a 3-hour-plus setlist covering each of her studio albums. After an exhausting run that ended in Vancouver, Taylor settled into a bit of home life with, as he describes it, rather dated interests.
“It’s been so fun to see what Taylor actually gets into around the house,” said Kelce on the latest episode of New Heights, his uber-popular sports podcast with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
Swift was the subject of conversation because she was also the guest on the latest episode, a shock that made the upcoming interview a global talking point.
Swift described her current interests as “hobbies you could have had in the 1700s,” which include sewing, painting, and cooking. Most recently? Swift has turned to baking bread. “Right now, we’re very deep in a sourdough obsession that has taken over my life,” she said.
The newfound domestic focus for Swift has reaped significant dividends for the Kelces—including Jason, who says he's been a recipient of Swift's baked goods. As for Travis, he specifically requested a delivery of fresh sourdough to St. Joseph. “Yeah, he asked me to send him two loaves of sourdough at training camp,” Swift said.
From July 22 to August 13, head coach Andy Reid put his Chiefs roster through another grueling few weeks of preseason work at Missouri Western State University. Kelce said the activity was good to help him keep the weight off despite loading up on carbs. “I’m lucky I’m working as much as I am and running as much as I am,” added Kelce, “because I am getting the caloric intake.”
