The Tennessee Vols, by virtue of their loss to the Houston Cougars in the Elite Eight, now hold an all-time record that the program almost certainly won't be bragging about anytime soon.
According to CBS Sports' Matt Norlander, the Volunteers are now tied with Xavier for the most all-time NCAA Tournament wins without reaching a Final Four.
Tennessee's win against the Kentucky Wildcats in the Sweet Sixteen was the Vols' 31st all-time tournament win.
The Missouri Tigers are behind Tennessee and Xavier with 23 tournament wins without a Final Four appearance.

That's a tough "record" to hold, though the 31 tournament wins are still very impressive.
If the Vols keep making trips to the Elite Eight, they'll eventually break through and reach a Final Four.
