Tennessee Vols LHP Zander Sechrist, the winning pitcher in the deciding game of the 2024 College World Series, joined 104.5 The Zone's Ramon, Kayla, and Will on Wednesday morning to discuss the national championship that UT baseball brought back to Knoxville.

Sechrist, who was a little late for the interview after sleeping through his alarm, saw his Tennessee career come to an end on Monday night in Omaha.

When asked by show co-host Kayla Anderson what's next, Sechrist responded with a hilarious quip.

"Well, first the (MLB) draft, we'll worry about the draft," said Sechrist. "And then we'll see if I'm sitting at a cubicle at State Farm or something...we'll just see where it takes me. But hopefully I get a call."

That's typical Zander Sechrist. He's one of the best interviews in the sport thanks to his upbeat personality and his unique takes.

As far as the draft goes, it's unclear when/if Sechrist will be drafted. College seniors typically don't go very early in the MLB draft. Sechrist, however, could have a chance at the next level. Sechrist isn't going to light up the radar gun, but crafty left handed pitchers can find a home in MLB if they can control the strike zone. It wouldn't be a surprise to see a team take a chance on Sechrist, especially considering what he showed as a competitor for the Vols during post-season play.

Regardless of what the next step is for Sechrist, there's no doubt he'll attack his next endeavor with tremendous enthusiasm and dedication.
