Terence Crawford Returns To Allegiant Stadium For Raiders-Chargers Game

Allegiant Stadium held its first-ever boxing event on Saturday, which culminated with Terence Crawford dethroning Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed super middleweight title.

Crawford defeated Alvarez by unanimous decision to remain undefeated and improve to 42-0 in his career.

Two days after the historic victory, Crawford was back at Allegiant Stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders’ home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Crawford proudly displayed his new belt and was presented with a customized No. 1 Raiders jersey before the game.

The Raiders hoped to follow Crawford’s win with another of their own, but they struggled in a 20-9 loss to the Chargers.

Geno Smith took a step back as he completed just 24 of 43 passes for 180 yards and no touchdowns against three interceptions. The Chargers’ defense sacked Smith three times and was able to limit big plays all game long.

Jakobi Meyers led the Raiders with six catches and 68 yards, while Brock Bowers was held to just five catches for 38 yards. Bowers played through a knee injury, which likely limited his effectiveness.

Ashton Jeanty had a couple of nice runs, but totaled just 43 yards on 11 carries. Daniel Carlson was responsible for all nine of the Raiders’ points as he made three field goals, including a 54-yarder.

Raiders looking to bounce back

After beginning their 2025 season with a 1-1 record, the Raiders will look to get back in the win column when they face the Washington Commanders on the road in Week 3.
