One of the nation's top 2026 cornerbacks has narrowed down his recruitment as he heads into his senior high school season. The list of four schools includes the Texas A&M Aggies.
As first reported by On3.com's Hayes Fawcett, Dorian Barney has narrowed his recruitment down to just his top four schools. The four-star cornerback by way of Carrollton, Georgia, is looking at Michigan, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, and Penn State. Those will be the four schools from which Barney will pick when he announces his commitment on July 5th.
The Carrollton High School product is the No. 12 cornerback, No. 14 player from the state of Georgia, and ranks No. 111 nationally according to the 247Sports composite. He holds over 40 offers, which include schools like Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Oregon, among many others.
However, he is currently considering only four schools as he heads into his senior year. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound corner has three of his five official visits left this summer after he already took trips to Colorado and Penn State. He will visit Georgia Tech on May 30th, Texas A&M on June 6th, and finish his visits with Michigan on June 20th.
Barney's list of finalists doesn't include the Alabama Crimson Tide, whom he was once committed to. After pledging to the Crimson Tide in May of last year, he announced his decommitment in November
Now he is set to commit again in July, where he could join a Texas A&M class that currently ranks as the nation's No. 6 class with 11 commits.

Notre Dame–Pittsburgh Game Gets Unexpected Kickoff Time
Notre Dame (6-2) moved up to No. 10 in the AP Poll Top 25 Sunday after its rather sleepy 25-10 victory at Boston College. The win keeps Notre Dame's College Football Playoff hopes alive, but some possible trap games soon await the Fighting Irish. That starts this week with a one-loss Navy team coming to South Bend, and continues next week at Pittsburgh, a team that sits 7-2 and has a great case that it should be ranked. While the Navy game will take place under the lights Saturday in South Bend, the Pittsburgh game has officially gotten the opposite treatment. Notre Dame and Pittsburgh to Kickoff at Noon E.T. Notre Dame gets the early kickoff time at Pittsburgh, making it an early start for Fighting Irish fans. What was not yet announced is what channel the game will air on, as it'll be either ABC or ESPN. Pittsburgh started 2-0 before dropping contests at West Virginia and to Louisville to fall to 2-2. It has since won five-straight games, and is in the thick of the ACC race as it is one of five league teams with one conference loss. Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh Series History Notre Dame has played Pittsburgh nearly as much as any other opponent in program history, having taken on the Panthers 73 times, winning 51 of those while tying another. The Fighting Irish have won seven of the last eight matchups with Pittsburgh dating back to the 2010 season. While Pittsburgh has often made life difficult for Notre Dame in that stretch, the last two matchups have been lopsided blowouts in favor of the Irish. Notre Dame won the last meeting, a 2023 contest in South Bend, 58-7. It also won at Pittsburgh its last trip back in 2020, routing the Panthers 45-3. Nick Shepkowski's Quick Thoughts: It's Navy week and that unique offense deserves the complete attention of the Notre Dame team this week, but I can't help but play a little bit of look ahead. Perhaps it's because of scar tissue over the years, but I see Pittsburgh being a significantly more difficult task than first thought for Marcus Freeman's Fighting Irish. Maybe that's because of the close calls in some of Notre Dame's biggest recent seasons (2012 and 2018 certainly both come to mind). Perhaps playing an early game and not getting the home crowd overly rocking from a full day of tailgating beforehand will prove good for the Irish.
Chiefs have a no-brainer trade target after loss vs. Bills
The last time the Kansas City Chiefs lost four games in a season, they went on to make the Super Bowl and beat the San Francisco 49ers. Six years have passed since, and Andy Reid's team will have to make some adjustments to replicate that fortune. That's especially evident after another heartbreaking regular-season loss to the Buffalo Bills, which exposed what might be the Chiefs' biggest flaw on offense: a lack of an explosive running game. That's why they need to pick up the phone and reach out to the New York Jets to trade for Breece Hall. Chiefs need to trade for Breece Hall According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Jets are more than open to trading Hall, who's in the final year of his contract. "The Jets have been getting calls on RB Breece Hall for a while, and while there is interest, New York is looking for at least a third-round pick in return," wrote Russini. Hall is just 24 years old, and while he had a major injury as a rookie, he's been pretty durable since. This season, he's up to 117 carries for 581 rushing yards and two touchdowns, averaging 5.0 yards per carry. He also has 21 receptions on 30 targets for 178 receiving yards. The Chiefs average 121.2 rushing yards per game, the 12th most in the NFL. That's with Patrick Mahomes accounting for one-third of their rushing yards, though. Neither Isiah Pacheco — who's currently out with an injury — nor Kareem Hunt has been efficient, and rookie Brashard Smith might not be ready to take on a bigger role. The Chiefs ran for just 79 yards against a Bills defense that gives up the fourth-most rushing yards per game (141.4), and Hall could certainly fix those woes.
Brad Marchand Reportedly Refused Trade to Different Team Before Joining Panthers
** Author’s Note: We’re working to get verification and footage of the comments from Marchand. This report comes from multiple social accounts that claim they heard the remarks firsthand. According to a report by @j_vmess on social media, former Boston Bruins captain and now Florida Panthers veteran star Brad Marchand shared a surprising story during Pantherfest this weekend. Apparently, he confirmed that he was nearly traded at the NHL trade deadline to a different team. He refused that trade, which led him to joining the Florida Panthers. Revealing that the Bruins moved him to a different NHL club, Marchand said he told the team he would not accept a trade there and would refuse to report if dealt. Ultimately, the Bruins pivoted and traded Marchand to Florida. Marchand went on to win a Stanley Cup with the team and re-sign there this past offseason as a free agent. @flatcatsandrats added to the report, noting that according to Marchand, the deal came together just before the deadline closed. “I got traded to another team about an hour before the deadline,” Marchand is said to have told fans. “When they called me, I said no — I wasn’t going.” Marchand didn’t specify which team had acquired his rights; the assumption is that the Los Angeles Kings had expressed serious interest. Marchand has reportedly noted in previous interviews that he wasn’t interested in playing for the Kings or on the West Coast. So too, back in June, Elliotte Friedman wrote that the Kings thought they had a trade for Marchand completed. At the time of Friedman’s article, Marchand was weighing his free agency options, Friedman explained: “Florida is first up, obviously, with the advantage of already being a perfect fit and good state taxes. If he doesn’t stay, Toronto and Utah are expected to be among the serious pursuers. Utah has indicated it is not crazy about term, Toronto could prefer to stretch it out, but, watching him in the final, who wouldn’t want him? Los Angeles (who had a deal with Boston, only to find out Marchand wanted Florida), New Jersey, Washington, etc., etc., he can fit anywhere.” “This was the only team I was coming to,” suggested another person who cited Marchand’s comments this weekend. It was common knowledge that teams were interested in Marchand at the deadline, but knowing that a trade had been finalized and that Marchand was the one who squashed it is an added wrinkle.
Steelers' Undrafted Free Agent Rookie Could Help Influence 2026 First-Round Decision
Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten quality quarterback play in 2025 with Aaron Rodgers, they still need to search for a future face of the franchise. Rodgers is almost 42 years old and close to retirement. Even if he does play another season, it will be good to have a first-round pick behind him to learn and develop in a way that even most coaches can't do. If Pittsburgh has to trade up to get a quality option, the front office has to stop delaying the inevitable and take a shot at a young gun. Just because Ke'Shawn Williams is an undrafted rookie for the Steelers, that doesn't mean that he can't help with a scouting report. After his final year in college, he worked with recent transfer Fernando Mendoza during offseason training, as well as Williams' Pro Day. He spoke with reporter Brian Batko about what he has seen in the Indiana Hoosiers' star. "It’s just his ability to do everything," Williams said. "He can make the throws, he’s very mobile, he has a lot of experience, very smart leader, a good person — all the intangible things you want out of a quarterback, somebody to come in and potentially lead your group...He’s got my vote, for sure." After transferring from the California Golden Bears to Indiana, Mendoza has lit the college world on fire. He currently leads the FBS in touchdown passes through eight games, and it's not like Indiana has had an easy schedule either. He has gone up against two Top 10 teams in the country and led the Hoosiers to victories in both contests, including a road upset against the Oregon Ducks. Indiana is now the #2 team in the country, only behind conference rival Ohio State Buckeyes. If Mendoza and the Hoosiers keep this up, the two teams will face off in the Big 10 conference championship game, where the winner will have the top seed in the College Football Playoffs and get a first-round bye, while the loser would have to play in the first round. This amazing 2025 performance has put the 22-year-old junior near the top of the quarterback rankings of the 2026 draft class. He is currently favored to win the Heisman Trophy as well. Depending on how he does in this last month of football and in the playoffs, he may even be out of the Steelers' reach, as he could easily be the first overall pick. Even if he falls outside the Top 5, it may be worth it for the Steelers to make a trade to get him. Steelers Are Likely Underwhelmed By Everyone Else It goes without saying that outside of Mendoza, most draft-eligible quarterbacks have completely bottomed out in the 2025 season. It's so bad that the Steelers may consider skipping out on drafting a quarterback in 2026 if they can't land Mendoza. If that is the case, the price to trade up in the 2026 NFL draft may rise up as well. Of course, the Steelers overall have not played great football, and there is a realistic chance that they end up drafting higher than they usually do. Obviously, nobody in that organization has any desire to tank, but a sub-par season for Pittsburgh standards could put them in a better position to go and get their guy. What is there to lose at this point? Despite Williams' scouting report on Mendoza, it's not set in stone that General Manager Omar Khan will do everything he can to try and draft the Indiana star. However, that inside information will still be helpful in the long run, especially Khan believes his testimony lines up with the tape at all. The undrafted receiver is not the deciding vote, but he could give a little nudge to help sway the Steelers towards selecting him.
