Texas Reveals Unconventional Uniforms for Cotton Bowl vs. Ohio State

There is snow in the forecast this week down in Dallas, offering some complications for travel plans of fans heading down to the Cotton Bowl to see the Texas Longhorns take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

It appears that the Longhorns are playing into the weather and hoping that it gives them an advantage on the field.

On Tuesday, Texas unveiled the uniforms that they will be wearing for this week's game against the Buckeyes, going with an unconventional all-white look as the home team that was depicted with the snowflake emojis on social media.

The game at the Cotton Bowl will take place in the dome of AT&T Stadium, so the Longhorns are working to bring that cold weather inside for the game.

As the higher seed and the home team, you would expect Texas to be wearing their traditional burnt orange jerseys, but they are going with the away look instead. This would lead you to believe that Ohio State is going to be wearing their home scarlet red uniforms. The Buckeyes could also break out the red pants for this game, as they did in the first-round game against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Going into this game, Ohio State is considered a heavy favorite, listed at -5.5 on the spread despite being the away team and playing Texas in Dallas, though it is technically a neutral-site game.

With how the Buckeyes looked against the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl, though, and the fact that Texas had to go to double-overtime to beat the Arizona State Sun Devils a week ago, it makes sense that the betting public is favoring Ohio State.

This game will kick off on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be aired on ESPN.
