This weekend, it's football, football and more football

A packed weekend of football awaits as we've officially hit November. By the way, a friendly reminder that clocks turn back an hour on Sunday, which means we get an extra hour of betting. What a treat!

Collin our shot: Nico is about to have a day

As we looked around the state of the NFL and each defense heading into Week 9, this Tampa Bay secondary just kept popping up. The Buccaneers are tied for the second-most 20+ yard passes allowed per game, which helps explain why they're allowing the fifth-most passing yards per game.

Not only that, but they've really had issues slowing down WRs. The Bucs have surrendered the seventh-most receptions to the position, which means we should expect both volume and production to come from the Houston wide receivers in this one.

Nico Collins is the logical landing spot for such an approach. He leads Houston in targets with 48 and has 4+ catches in five of his seven games on the year. He's averaging 82.4 yards per game off that volume, and we've watched as five of the seven opposing WR1s to see Tampa Bay finished with at least 70+ yards, four times going for 100+.

In three home games this year, Collins has averaged 131.3 yards per game.

Betting: Nico Collins 70+ receiving yards (+130 DraftKings)

Ding-dong the witch is dead: Back Raiders moneyline

There's something to be said about a vibe switch, and that's what has come to this Las Vegas Raiders locker room. Reports have emerged that players hated Josh McDaniels, and their wish became a reality when Mark Davis fired his coach this week.

We're going simple-minded here and betting on the players to give forth a more spirited effort, for at least one week. Oh, and it helps when you play the New York Giants.

Betting: Las Vegas Raiders moneyline (-125 DK)

Georgia should handle biggest SEC East threat on Saturday

The Missouri Tigers have just one conference loss as we head into November and represent perhaps Georgia's only competition for the SEC East crown.

However, it seems foolish to fade the Georgia Bulldogs right now. They just looked sharp in a dismantling of Florida, and QB Carson Beck is seemingly getting better and better as the season winds on. Mistake-free football has been the name of the game for the two-time defending champs this year, and it's best to back them until something changes.

Betting: Georgia -15 (-112 DK)

In the news ...

Victor Wembanyama wows with 38 points in Spurs' upset win over Suns — We got our first glance at how truly dominant Victor Wembanyama might be in this league, as the Spurs rookie big man finished with 38 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks to power San Antonio over the Phoenix Suns. The highlight reel is beautiful to behold, with Wembanyama nailing pull-up threes and catching lob passes with ease. It's not hard to see why the big man was so hyped prior to the draft, and he currently sits at -340 to win Rookie of the Year.

NBA in-season tournament begins today — This may have snuck up on you like it did for us, but the NBA's inaugural in-season tournament gets started today with group play. What are we talking about? This is a new competition for all 30 teams, tipping off today, Nov. 3, and culminating with a championship game on Dec. 9. These games count toward the regular-season total, and the winning players receive a $500K bonus. You can read more about the structure here, with each team randomly drawn into five groups of four. The Bucks (+900) are the favorites to win the tourney, tied with the Celtics. We blindly want to put a small bet on the young, feisty Thunder team to take this home at +2200.

Steelers beat Titans 20-16 on Thursday night — It wasn't the prettiest of games, but the Pittsburgh Steelers did enough to take down the Tennessee Titans on Thursday to advance to 5-3. They now sit a game behind the Ravens in the AFC North, though Baltimore can extend that with a win on Sunday. The Ravens are -120 to win the AFC North, followed by the Bengals at +300. Pittsburgh is +650. Meanwhile, the Titans loss drops them to 3-5 and makes any bid at the AFC South seem impossible now. The Jaguars sit at 6-2 and are -650 favorites to repeat as division champs.
