Sports fans received devastating news this Tuesday. ESPN's "Around the Horn" will air its final episode on Friday, May 23.

"Around the Horn" has been around since November 2002. Fans fell in love with the show's host, Tony Reali, as well as reoccurring panelists like Tim Cowlishaw, Frank Isola, Jackie MacMullan, Woody Paige, Bill Plaschke and Bob Ryan. They're legitimately angry that ESPN is moving on from this program.

Dave Roberts, the executive vice president at ESPN, released a statement on this decision.

"Around the Horn has had a remarkable run of more than two decades. That kind of longevity in media is incredibly rare, and we look forward to celebrating the show’s many accomplishments before the final sign-off in May," Roberts said. "Beyond Tony and the ensemble of on-air contributors, we are particularly grateful to the production team led by Erik Rydholm and Aaron Solomon, who have been instrumental in ATH’s consistent success since the very beginning."

A few hours later, Reali posted a message on social media directly for "Around the Horn" fans.

"Thank you guys, I’m overwhelmed but I’ll try to give FaceTimes to you all! All I ever wanted Was for you To know that I care," Reali wrote on X.

Countless fans responded to Reali's message with kind words about "Around the Horn." It was clearly a staple for sports fans over the past two decades.

"I remember you starting with PTI when I was in high school. appreciate you and all of the ppl who have been on the show it’s been an amazing run. Tearing up right now," one fan replied.

"Love you Tony. Thanks for making coming home from school and locking into sports talk a thing. Around the Horn into PTI… feels good man," another fan said.

ESPN will replace "Around the Horn" this summer with 30-minute editions of "SportsCenter."
