The Wisconsin football staff extended an offer to a top 2028 cornerback last month just before a recruiting surge occurred for the athlete.

Nate Dollard , arguably the top cornerback in North Carolina in the 2028 recruiting class, picked up his second scholarship offer from Wisconsin in May. Now just over a full month later, the recruit holds eight scholarships after receiving an offer from the Vanderbilt Commodores just hours ago. Dollard is one of the fastest rising recruits in the 2028 class and it did not take long at all for the recruit to go national in the process.

When asked about the scholarship offer from Wisconsin and how it felt to receive such an offer, Dollard stated, “All the offers and experiences have been different.. but to receive an offer to play Badger football as my second offer and as a freshman is one like no other!”

“That experience was surreal! I was very excited when Coach Cooper came to my school and called me out of class. We had a great conversation about Wisconsin football and the team,” stated Dollard.

After picking up a scholarship offer from the Wisconsin football staff, Dollard snagged offers from Vanderbilt, Florida State, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech amongst others. The defensive back has been on a tear at skills camps, earning offers nearly every time he competes currently. Dollard is focused on taking the recruiting process in and stated, “The recruiting process has been cool. Meeting different coaches, learning about the different programs, visiting different campuses, and competing against great talent from over all has been an amazing experience.”

What does the Wisconsin Football Staff Envision in 2028 Cornerback Nate Dollard?

When sizing up the defensive back, the Wisconsin football staff sees a recruit who is still growing into his frame but already possesses great skills and a better work ethic. Dollard is currently 6-feet tall with more time to grow, which could make for a dominant corner with lethal reach.

In the eyes of Dollard, being the best means being ambitious and putting more work into the craft than other players. When asked about what sets himself apart from other defensive backs, Dollard stated, “My mindset, ambition, competitiveness, and how advanced I am for my age on the field all plays a major role in what sets me apart.”

The defensive back has always fought hard on the field and never takes a rep off, which has allowed the athlete to develop at an incredible rate. Dollard plays with a high level of intensity and utilizes both his physical and mental skills on the field to become an all-around player. The Wisconsin football staff truly admires the attitude of Dollard and the willingness of the defensive back to do whatever the team needs.
