On Monday morning, coach Bill Self and Kansas extended an offer to Billy White III – a 6-foot-8 Class of 2026 wing from Corpus Christi, Texas – per his X account.
Tabbed as the nation’s 33rd overall prospect by 247 Sports, White is a highly sought-after recruit, already holding offers from 25 schools, including top-tier programs such as Tennessee, Illinois, St. John’s, and Texas A&M.
Proverbs 16:3! After a great conversation with Coach Dooley, I am extremely blessed to have received an offer from The University of Kansas! All glory to Jesus Christ!✝️❤️ pic.twitter.com/91cubXntDc

Joining the race for White a bit late, the Jayhawks may be a touch behind the eight ball, as White has scheduled upcoming visits to SMU, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, LSU, and Maryland – and he’s already been on campus at Texas A&M (old coaching staff).
With excellent size and length, White can get his shot off at will and has the buttery-smooth stroke to knock shots down at a high clip. Also a solid defender, White ensures his impact is felt on both ends of the court.
The Texas native suits up for ASAK on the 3SSB (Adidas) Circuit for his AAU ball, while he attends Veterans Memorial High School.
Lacking consistent shooting across the board on Kansas’ current roster, White would be a dream fit as a long-range bomber with size on the perimeter for Self and his coaching staff – although the Jayhawks wouldn’t get White until next season, even if they end up landing him.

Let's face it: Penn State's 2025 home football schedule is top heavy. There's one marquee game, a few interesting Big Ten matchups and, well, not much else. And the resale ticket market has priced that accordingly, to the point that tickets to one particular Penn State football home game cost more than tickets to the other six combined. Ben Jones, who writes the excellent Ben Jones on Penn State Substack, found this in a recent search of secondary-market tickets. The Sept. 27 Penn State-Oregon game, already the most expensive face-value ticket in Penn State football history, is outpacing the remainder of the Nittany Lions' home schedule by itself. According to Ticketmaster as of Aug, 12, the lowest-priced Penn State-Oregon resale tickets (assuming two purchased together) are $383.76 each. Tickets to Penn State's other six home games combined cost a total of $246. Which means that fans have this choice: Attend the Penn State-Oregon game or spend less money to attend the Nittany Lions' six other home games. That's a significant imbalance in ticket pricing and underscores the nature of Penn State's 2025 home football schedule. What Penn State football tickets cost in 2025 We've covered what single-game, face-value tickets cost for Penn State's 2025 season. The resale market is far different. Even though this is the most anticipated Penn State football season since 1999, resale tickets currently are under face value for every home game but the Nittany Lions-Ducks "White Out." Here's a look at the lowest per-game resale ticket prices as of Aug. 12. Pricing is per ticket based on buying two together through Ticketmaster on Aug. 12. That's $246 total for Penn State's six-game home schedule aside from the game vs. Oregon. The combination of Penn State's three-game non-conference schedule to open the season, the Big Ten Championship Game rematch and Oregon visiting Beaver Stadium for the White Out have pushed the pricing disparity. Assessing Penn State's 2025 schedule The Nittany Lions' schedule is built for a playoff run. Penn State eases into the season with a gentle three-game slope, has bye weeks before playing Oregon and Ohio State and does not face Illinois (preseason No. 12) or Michigan (preseason No. 14). But from a fans' perspective, the home schedule isn't thrilling. Penn State opens the 2025 season with games against Nevada and FIU, which rank 128th and 110th, respectively, in the ESPN College Football Power Index. Then the Nittany Lions host FCS Villanova. Penn State's home schedule includes two teams ranked in the preseason AP Top 25: Oregon (No. 7) and Indiana (No. 20). Penn State doesn't have a defined Big Ten rivalry game and plays Ohio State, its closest thing to a rival, in Columbus. The Nittany Lions also get Iowa on the road while hosting Northwestern and Nebraska. Depending on the teams' progress, the resale market could bounce for the Nov. 8 Penn State-Indiana game at Beaver Stadium. Otherwise, Penn State's home schedule likely will remain affordable on the resale market outside of the White Out game. Watching Penn State football on the road Penn State road tickets often will cost more than for home games. As of Aug. 12 on Ticketmaster, resale tickets for the Nov. 1 Penn State-Ohio State game in Columbus started at $298. Tickets for Penn State's Oct. 4 visit to the Rose Bowl to play UCLA started at $201. And resale tickets for the Nittany Lions' Oct. 18 trip to Kinnick Stadium to face the Iowa Hawkeyes started at $128. Penn State also will visit Michigan State ($86) and Rutgers ($96) in November, with the resale market still trending high in those markets. Rutgers is a particularly popular destination for New York-area alums who can't get to Beaver Stadium. We'll keep watching Penn State's ticket prices. But for now, the Penn State-Oregon game is looking like an investment.
Jon Gruden sent another warning shot toward the NFL after scoring a major win in court. On Tuesday, Gruden welcomed a ruling that will force the NFL to litigate the circumstances of his firing in court rather than closed-door arbitration. The former Las Vegas Raiders coach made it clear that he intends to continue his legal challenge to the NFL, ensuring that they are held accountable. “I’m looking forward to having the truth come out, and I want to make sure what happened to me doesn’t happen to anyone else,” Gruden said in a statement provided to ESPN’s Don Van Natta Jr. “The league’s actions disrupted the whole season. We were leading the division at the time and they completely blindsided me and the team.” The Raiders were 3-1 in 2021 when Gruden was forced to resign after offensive emails he had sent between 2011 and 2018 were leaked. Gruden has alleged that the NFL leaked the emails to force him out of a job after obtaining them during an investigation into the Washington Commanders. The NFL is set to appeal Monday’s ruling, but if that appeal fails, the league may be forced into public discovery. One alternative would be to offer Gruden a settlement, but he has not said whether or not he would be interested in such a resolution. Gruden has not held an NFL coaching job since the Raiders forced him out. He has recently spoken about possibly making a return to coaching at the college level.
New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields found out he has a long way to go following his performance at Tuesday's joint practice with the New York Giants. Per Connor Hughes of SNY TV, Fields started hot at the practice before struggling during the move-the-ball period. "Very interesting practice for #Jets QB Justin Fields," Hughes posted on X. "He finished 7 of 12 with a TD. 5 of 5 to start practice. Then 0 for 4. Finished 2 of 3 with the really impressive TD to Jeremy Ruckert in red zone (starter 18 yard line). "The offensive performance was a bit alarming in move-the-ball period of practice. Fields Co. had three attempts to get down field. They didn’t gain a first down. Only gained yards twice (two short Breece Hall runs). Three sacks. That needs to be fixed. #Giants defense toyed with NYJ during that period." Some Jets fans online thought Hughes was using hyperbole to characterize the practice, but he doubled down on his judgment of the offense. Fields looked strong on his first and only drive in the Jets' 30-10 win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. He went 3-of-4 passing for 42 yards and rushed two times for 14 yards and a touchdown. However, the Giants defense at the joint practice is a much better unit than the short-handed one the Packers trotted out for the first preseason game. Fields' issues seen with the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers, with holding the ball too long and not being able to pass consistently downfield, were a factor against the Giants. Following Saturday's game, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Fields was getting better but had a lot to improve on. Tuesday's practice was a humbling reminder that Fields needs to become a consistent passer if the Jets are going to move the ball on good defenses in the regular season.
Cleveland Browns All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett became the subject of headlines when it was learned that he was cited for driving 100 mph in a 60 mph zone on an interstate in a Cleveland suburb several hours after the Browns opened the preseason with a 30-10 win at the Carolina Panthers on Friday night. While speaking with reporters ahead of the club's joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday morning, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski sent a clear message regarding his feelings about Garrett's latest speeding incident. "Coming from a team leader, extremely disappointing," Stefanski said about Garrett, per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN. "It's been addressed with Myles -- with the football team. He needs to slow down for his safety and the safety of others." Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer mentioned that Garrett has had at least eight speeding citations in Northeast Ohio since Cleveland made him the first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. Back in the fall of 2022, Garrett missed a game after he was involved in a single-car accident following a team practice. The Ohio State Highway Patrol ultimately issued Garrett a citation following that crash after it was determined he was using an "unsafe speed for the type of roadway being traveled." Cabot added that Stefanski declined to say if Garrett will be disciplined this summer. Earlier in the week, Cabot wrote that Garrett could "be fined for conduct detrimental to the team." Back in early February, Garrett requested a trade from the Browns coming off the club's 3-14 season. However, he later accepted a four-year, $160M contract extension that included $123.5M guaranteed to stay with the organization. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam revealed during the NFL owners meetings in the spring that he had "challenged" Garrett "to become a real leader of the team." Haslam made that comment after a March report shared that it's "well known within the Browns that Garrett is frequently late to the facility" and "has skipped mandatory team activities on multiple occasions." It remains to be seen how the 29-year-old will respond to Stefanski's comments about an incident that occurred after Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited for speeding twice in June.
