In Saturday's early hours, former SEC and NFL DB Kelvin Joseph was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and collision involving injury or death. The other person involved in the accident, 27-year-old Cody Morris, died.

Joseph was driving a BMW sedan during the accident while Morris was on a motorcycle. The former LSU and Kentucky defensive back called police to inform them of the collision, which took place in Richardson, Texas.

After finishing his collegiate career with the Wildcats, when he totaled 25 tackles and four interceptions during the 2020 season, he declared for the NFL Draft, where he was selected with the No. 44 overall pick in the second round by the Dallas Cowboys. He played with several teams over the next four seasons, totaling 39 tackles and four pass deflections. Joseph was currently playing in the UFL with the DC Defenders.

This is Joseph’s second serious off-the-field issue. In 2022, he was a passenger in a car that fired gun shots into a group of people in Dallas. One of the bullets resulted in the death of Cameron Ray. However, police found that Joseph was not one of the shooters so no charges were pressed.
