Saturday night's slate of Final Four games was one for the books — and millions were reportedly there to witness it.
Today March Madness TV's official account released its ratings numbers for Houston vs. Duke and Florida vs. Auburn, which revealed it was the most-watched men's basketball semifinal in nearly a decade.
According to the network, CBS averaged 15.3 million viewers with a peak of 20.4 people tuning in — up 19% from last year's tournament.
The first game between Auburn and Florida was the most-watched early game since 2017, with an average audience of 14.6 million — a 27% increase. While the nightcap between the Cougars and Blue Devils drew an average of 16 million (up 13%).
NCAA Tournament viewership is reportedly up 2% across the board on TBS, TNT, truTV and CBS with nearly 10 million fans taking in all of the college hoops action this past month.
This year's March Madness hasn't been filled with as many upsets as year's past, but big brands and one-seeds making it farther into the tournament hasn't stopped eyeballs from tuning in.
Last night's epic comeback by Kelvin Sampson's squad was one of the most exciting we've seen — toppling the Blue Devils with an 11-1 run in the final minute to advance to the national championship.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of viewership Monday's title game draws when UF and Houston tip-off at 8:50 PM ET on CBS.
