On Monday, On3's Sooner Scoop listed 10 potential candidates to replace Castiglione as the athletic director at Oklahoma.
Two of the names they listed have connections to the Tennessee Vols.
The first is Pittsburgh athletic director Allen Greene, who previously served as the athletic director at Auburn.
Greene worked under athletic director Danny White as a senior deputy athletic director at Tennessee from 2023 to 2024. The Seattle native also worked under White at Buffalo from 2012 to 2015 (White was Buffalo's athletic director at that time).
The other name listed by Scooner Scoop with a connection to Tennessee is senior deputy AD/chief revenue officer Ryan Alpert.
Alpert, who has worked under White at Tennessee since 2021, has been an important fundraiser for UT athletics in recent years.
It's still incredibly early in the process for Oklahoma, so it's unclear if either of these names will be serious options for the Sooners. But if either is hired, Tennessee's athletic department could potentially lose some key members to OU as some employees would likely follow either Greene or Alpert to Norman.
