After previously committing to the University of Central Florida, four-star wide receiver Tyren Wortham decommitted and chose Michigan State University, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The Class of 2026 prospect previously committed to UCF in April and ranks as the 53rd-best player at his position by On3.
Wortham fielded offers from Arizona, Georgia and Kansas State before signing with the Spartans.

Wortham, a Sarasota, Florida native enters his senior year high school season and has a 6-foot, 185-pound frame.
He became the second-highest-rated prospect of the Spartan’s Class of 2026 recruits and became Head Coach Jonathan’s Smith 15th recruit in the month of June. His official visit with the university came this past weekend, as he became the third four-star prospect to commit.
Wortham joins a strong receiving room, alongside three-star signee Zachary Washington.
With these top talents, Smith has strung together the 24th-best recruiting class, per 247Sports.
The Spartans finished below .500 for the third consecutive season, including a 5-7 finish in 2024. Whereas, the Knights missed a bowl game appearance for the first time since 2015 with a 4-8 record.
247Sports ranks UCF’s Class of 2026 recruits as 56th nationally under Scott Frost, who was hired as head coach in December 2024, replacing Guz Malzahn. With new leadership, the program will look to clinch its first bowl win since 2021.
